Brandy expert, Bryan from the Cocktail Academy LA will be in-store to discuss the category and provide samples of Western Grace, as well as Ventura Spirits’ Strawberry Brandy and their truly unique Opuntia Brandy.

Western Grace is an Old World brandy from La Mancha — the Spanish birthplace of brandy — where grapes have been cultivated and distilled for spirits since the 13th Century.  Made from Xarel-lo, Macabeo, and Parellada grapes cultivated under a strict regimen, the liquid is solera-aged in American oak, then finished in sherry vats.

The result is a smooth and balanced, full-flavored brandy with notes of oak, grape, vanilla, walnut, hazelnut, and cocoa—an ideal, versatile brandy for traditional neat serves and craft mixology cocktails alike.

Ventura Spirits, based in the heartland of California’s strawberry orchards, distills their Strawberry Brandy from California strawberries whose imperfections kept them off store shelves.  This one-of-a-kind brandy is aged for two years in neutral French oak casks, resulting in a dry character with a lovely strawberry aroma and notes of honey and dried fruit. Sustainable.  Delicious.  Ugly fruit, beautiful brandy!

Their Opuntia Brandy is a prickly pear spirit, made from the fruit of the Nopal cactus.  Its flavor is as singular as tequila’s, an invigorating balance of fresh fruit and desert earth that is all its own.  Over a ton of sun-ripened California fruit is fermented into wine and then distilled in each batch.  This is a new spirit tradition that belongs to California!
