Drop by San Francisco’s #1 Craft Spirits Store, The Epicurean Trader, for an opportunity to meet the Chief Distiller from NY’s Coppersea Distilling!  Christopher will be in town for Whiskeyfest and has collaborated with us so that we can provide a free tasting event for anyone of legal age to attend!


We will be pouring samples of his truly unique product line, including:


~ New York Raw Rye Whisky: a premier white whiskey with depth of character and unexpected richness, replicating the style of whiskey that would have been enjoyed pre-Prohibition.


~ Corn Whisky:  throwback to an earlier era of American whisky making when, prior to the legal standardization of new charred oak barrels, American distillers often reconditioned and reused barrels several times.


~ Excelsior Bourbon Whisky: A mash of 60% corn, 30% rye and 10% malted barley, this bourbon is aged 100% NY-harvested American white oak


~ Green Malt Rye Whisky:  an oak-aged single malt rye whisky made with 100% un-kilned, or “green,” rye malt


There will be an opportunity to meet and engage with the Chief Distiller, learn more about how whiskey was historically made, and – of course – sample his delicious small-batch spirits.



ABOUT COPPERSEA DISTILLING


A true farm-to-glass distillery, Coppersea Distilling from New York’s Hudson Valley, was founded in 2011 as a New York Farm Distillery with the mission of producing ultra-premium whiskies and eaux-de-vie from Hudson Valley-sourced heirloom varietal grain and fruit.


Using heritage-methods distilling traditions like open wooden fermenters, direct-fired copper-pot stills, sour-mashing and floor-malting, and 100% NY-State grown barrels, Coppersea Distilling is one of the few distilleries in the world capable of bringing nearly the entire whiskey-making process in-house and re-creating truly pre-Prohibition style whiskies.
