The Story Behind the Collaboration
About a month ago, we started sketching ideas for our seasonal gift baskets. This year, we wanted to do something different — a theme spotlighting a different San Francisco neighborhood each month. Each stop would feature two baskets: one drink-focused and one food-focused.
When we reached North Beach, the answer was obvious: a Pizza Kit. Mat, founder of The Epicurean Trader, immediately said, “We have to include The Pizza Bible by Tony Gemignani — 13-time World Pizza Champion.” On a whim, we reached out to Tony himself. To our surprise, he replied almost instantly: he loved the idea. And just like that, the collaboration was born — the wheels were in motion.
