Their story

Agua del Sol is the work of Felix Hernández Monterrosa and Adriana Correa, partners in life and business who also run the Mezcales CUISH tasting rooms in Oaxaca City. Years of pouring mezcal from small family producers gave them a close view of the people making it.

They started Agua del Sol to share very small batches with drinkers outside Oaxaca. Each bottle names the maestro or maestra who made it, including Berta Vásquez, Francisco García León, Raúl García and Reyna Rodríguez Ramírez.

This release is a collaboration bottling with Eric Mancha, made from wild Tobalá agave.

How it's made

Agua del Sol bottles single batches from individual mezcaleros rather than blending across producers. The range covers cultivated and wild agaves, including Espadín, Tobalá, Arroqueño, Coyote, Jabalí and Cuishe, and every label credits the person who distilled it.

Why we carry them

We like that every Agua del Sol bottle tells you exactly whose hands made it. A Tobalá like this is a good way to taste what wild agave brings to the glass.
