Their story

Chlorophyll Water was started in 2019 by Matt Levine, who spent more than twenty years owning and running restaurants in New York City and also opened juice bars in Tulum, Mexico.

The long hours of hospitality work led him to start adding liquid chlorophyll, the green pigment in plants, to his morning water. When he couldn't find a ready-to-drink version, he made one, and he did much of the early selling himself around Brooklyn.

The company has kept a focus on packaging and giving back, donating water to medical workers, shelters and senior centers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How it's made

The base is purified mountain spring water, with chlorophyll added for its green color. Bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic or aluminum, and the water is Clean Label Project Certified, which screens for environmental toxins and plasticizers. Through rePurpose Global, the company funds removal of one plastic bottle from the environment for each one it sells.

Why we carry them

We like this as a light, clean-tasting alternative to plain bottled water. It is an easy grab for a picnic or the walk home.
