Their story
Coffee Manufactory is the coffee arm of Tartine, the San Francisco bakery started by Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt. It took shape after a planned merger between Tartine and Blue Bottle Coffee was called off, and Tartine decided to roast its own coffee instead of relying on an outside partner.
The brand opened in 2016 alongside Tartine Manufactory in the Mission District, with a small team handling sourcing, roasting and wholesale.
How it's made
The team builds its blends in-house with an eye toward simplicity. Bags are numbered rather than dressed up, with an espresso blend, a filter blend and a rotating single origin, and the label lists components and processing rather than tasting notes.
Our featured pick
03: Africa Coffee Beans (12OZ)
$21.50
The 03 Single Origin series will change seasonally as the Coffee Manufactory changes the source of their coffee beans.
We don't even do tasting notes.
Why we carry them
Coffee Manufactory is a local roaster we are happy to have on our shelves. Their numbered blends make it easy to find a reliable everyday bag.
