Their story
Fever-Tree began with two Londoners who thought the mixer was the weak link in the glass. Charles Rolls had helped revive Plymouth Gin, and Tim Warrillow came from advertising. Together they noticed that most tonic was built on artificial sweeteners and cheap flavorings, even though it made up most of the drink.
They spent over a year researching quinine, reading old records at the British Library, before launching their Indian Tonic in 2005. The range has since grown to include elderflower, Mediterranean, aromatic and lighter tonics, plus ginger beers and sodas, sold in dozens of countries.
How it's made
The quinine comes from cinchona trees grown near the Rwanda-Congo border, a source the founders chose for its purity. It is blended with spring water and a set of botanicals, including bitter orange and marigold. The tonics skip artificial sweeteners and preservatives.
