Their story
Highwire Coffee Roasters is the work of Rich Avella, Eric Hashimoto and Robert Myers, friends who met in the mid-1990s and bonded over coffee and community.
They started Highwire in the East Bay in 2011. The company roasts in Emeryville and runs neighborhood cafes in Oakland, Alameda, Albany and Walnut Creek.
How it's made
Highwire buys fresh-crop green coffee each season and works with producers who care about quality and sustainability. Coffee is roasted and shipped the same day. The range runs from bright, light single origins to darker, chocolatey roasts.
