Their story
Sugar Paper began in Los Angeles in 2003, when friends Jamie Grobecker and Chelsea Shukov started playing with a letterpress and printing custom paper for people they knew. Requests kept coming, and the side project became a studio.
While much of the paper world moved online, the pair kept their focus on physical goods you can hold and mail. Today the brand runs shops at the Brentwood Country Mart and Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, and its cards, notebooks and desk goods are sold in stores across the country.
How it's made
Products are designed and checked in the company's Los Angeles studio. Envelopes are lined by hand and inspected one by one, leather pieces are made in small batches by local craftspeople, and candles are poured by hand.
