The best products aren't mass-produced. They're made by passionate artisans, and for eleven years The Epicurean Trader has been where San Francisco goes to find them. We operate four showrooms in the city's most affluent neighborhoods, each paired with a cafe pouring wine and beer and serving food on-site. Every product on our shelves earns its place, chosen for flavor, craftsmanship and the story of the people who make it. The model works. In 2025 we generated $10.5M in revenue at a 51.9% gross margin, and we've grown 25.4% a year since opening, without a dollar of outside capital.
Our reach already extends far beyond our four walls. More than 6.5M people visit our site each year, our e-commerce sales keep climbing, and every fourth quarter we ship roughly 3,000 custom gift baskets to companies like Google, Adobe and Salesforce.
Demand for what we curate is national. But curation has always been hard to scale, because taste is personal. Take just 20 taste preferences, measured across five levels, and there are more than 95 trillion possible combinations.
Sweet or savory. Bright or rich. Mild or fiery. Classic or adventurous. Italian, Japanese, Mexican, French, Korean, Mediterranean, and everything in between.
No store shelf and no one-size-fits-all subscription box can serve a palate that specific. AI can. For the first time, we can bring the judgment of our showrooms to every customer individually, wherever they live.
The Provisions Club is a gourmet pantry curated around your taste.
Members tell us what they love, rate what they receive and skip what they don't. Every signal teaches the system, so each shipment is more personal than the last: exceptional olive oils, small-batch sauces, conservas, chocolate, pasta, spices and unique discoveries from remarkable producers around the world.
It bridges our showrooms and food lovers everywhere, and it's the first step toward a national network of artisan discovery.
Not a box of what we think everyone should like. A pantry built around what you do.

Explosive profitability: Our showrooms are deliberately small, and because we moved operations and fulfillment into one central warehouse, almost every square foot is selling space. The result is $2,000+ in sales per square foot at over 59% gross margin. That warehouse is also our launchpad. It already receives, stores and ships our e-commerce orders and thousands of corporate gift baskets a year, so The Provisions Club launches on fulfillment infrastructure that's already built and running.
An Award-Winning Brand That Lifts Every Channel: Yelp named us the #1 Rated Specialty Food Store in San Francisco. West Elm named us Best Neighborhood Market. Saveur listed us as a Must See in its Culinary Guide to San Francisco. That recognition does more than bring people through the door. Shoppers discover us in a showroom and reorder online; online customers become regulars when a showroom opens nearby. Instead of cannibalizing each other, every channel lifts the others. We call it reverse cannibalization.
6.5 Million Visitors, Ready to Convert: Most of our online audience buys occasionally, for a gift or a holiday. The Provisions Club gives them a reason to come back every month, turning traffic we already earn into recurring, predictable revenue.
Trusted by Google, Facebook, Adobe and Salesforce: Leading companies rely on our premium artisan selection for corporate gifting, and in Q4 alone we ship about 3,000 custom gift baskets. That proves our curation meets enterprise standards and our fulfillment scales well beyond a single storefront. It's also a built-in growth channel: every gift recipient is a potential member.
Small by design. Wide by Ambition.
Specialty food lovers want exceptional products. The market makes them work to find them.
So a shopper who wants a great olive oil, a unique beverage and a beautiful gift makes three stops. Outside a handful of food cities, they can't find them at all.
We built the answer: one destination for the best artisan goods, curated across every category under one roof.
Our showrooms are 1,000 to 2,000 square feet by design. That's small enough to force real curation discipline and wide enough to cover everything a specialty food lover cares about. Because every item earns its place, we trust everything we carry. That keeps inventory lean, lowers risk and lets us expand efficiently. The constraint isn't a limitation. It's why our showrooms outperform on sales per square foot.
The Provisions Club brings that same discipline online. Most subscriptions win by offering convenience without sacrificing quality. The Provisions Club offers discovery without sacrificing convenience.
Our vision: a national network of intimate showrooms, each reflecting the finest local producers, all connected by AI-powered discovery that reaches every market we serve, whether or not we have a storefront there yet.
This playbook is proven. Cooper's Hawk layered a curated wine club on top of its restaurants: the restaurants built trust, trust drove club signups, and the club drove recurring revenue. With more than 400,000 club members, it was acquired by Ares Management in 2019 at a reported valuation of more than $700M, roughly 23 to 26 times EBITDA.
The Provisions Club runs the same flywheel with a different front door:
The difference is data. Every shipment, rating and skip makes the engine smarter, the next box more personal and each member more likely to stay. Revenue comes from monthly memberships, add-on wine pairings and a la carte purchases from our full catalog.
In five minutes, members rate flavors, heat, cuisines and styles, then swipe through real products from our shelves.
Each member is matched with a curator whose palate fits their own. Curators choose the products, write the notes in every box and share recipes to use them.
Members decide how far each box ventures, from trusted favorites to bold new discoveries.
Every response sharpens the next shipment, and favorites can be reordered anytime.
Behind every box: nearly 3,900 products already tagged by flavor, cuisine, dietary need and spice level; an AI engine that proposes each shipment; and a member of our team who reviews it before it ships.
Our advantages were built one transaction, one producer relationship and one loyal customer at a time, over more than a decade: thousands of vetted products, direct access to small producers and their limited releases, and a loyal customer base. A tech startup or a PE-backed roll-up can't replicate them quickly.
"Most subscription startups spend their first million dollars building what we've already spent a decade creating. We're starting where others are just beginning." Mat Pond, Co-Founder and CEO
And we have the team to scale it: operators with experience managing over $1B in retail systems, building stores and launching multi-channel platforms.
Verifiable revenue, loyal customers, and a subscription product already generating six-figure annual recurring revenue.
