Their story

2 Towns Ciderhouse started in 2010 with two childhood friends, Lee Larsen and Aaron Sarnoff-Wood. Lee had lived in Spain and come home curious about cider, and the pair had easy access to Pacific Northwest apples. Lee lived in Corvallis after Oregon State, Aaron in Eugene after the University of Oregon, and they traded off which town to meet in while they planned. The name honors both.

Their first test batches came out of a basement and debuted at Lee's wedding. Soon after they rented a former taxi garage outside Corvallis, moved in a couple of wine tanks and built a walk-in cooler. Fermentation scientist Dave Takush, who grew up on a family farm in Corvallis, joined in 2011.

When they launched, Oregon had only one small cidery. Today 2 Towns is one of the largest craft cideries in the country, still based in Corvallis and still built around Northwest fruit.

How it's made

2 Towns presses and ferments its ciders in Corvallis, Oregon, using Pacific Northwest apples and other regional fruit. The team runs a barrel-aging program alongside its everyday ciders and tests new flavors in a small innovation lab, from Oregon marionberry to tropical fruit.

When someone opens a Two Towns, they're getting a sense of our region.

Why we carry them

2 Towns is the cider we point people to when they want something that tastes like actual fruit rather than candy. It is a West Coast success story that grew from a garage without losing its regional character.
