Their story
Ada Nada is a family winery in Treiso, in the hills of Barbaresco in Piedmont. Carlo Nada started it in 1919 in the Rombone area, and the estate passed to his son Giovanni, then to his grandson Gian Carlo and Gian Carlo's wife, Ada, whose name is on the label.
Since 2001 their daughter Anna Lisa and her husband, Elvio Cazzaro, have run the estate. Their three daughters, Emma, Elisa and Serena, have lent their names to some of the wines.
The estate began with about 3 hectares and has grown to 9, all in Treiso.
How it's made
Most of the vines sit in the Valeirano and Rombone crus, with an average age of about 40 years. Every grape is picked by hand, and the wines are made in the traditional Langhe way, aiming for structure and restraint. The estate makes about 45,000 bottles a year, roughly half of them Barbaresco.
Why we carry them
We love Ada Nada for classic, small-family Barbaresco at a fair price. These are wines for anyone who likes Nebbiolo with real character and finesse.
