Their story
anCnoc is the single malt of Knockdhu Distillery in the village of Knock, near Huntly in Aberdeenshire. John Morrison bought the Knock estate in 1892 and opened the distillery in October 1894, choosing the site for its newly found springs, local barley, nearby peat bogs and a railway line.
Because the Knockdhu name was easily confused with the Knockando distillery, the single malt is sold as anCnoc. The distillery sits just northeast of Speyside and is owned today by Inver House Distillers.
How it's made
Knockdhu draws its water from natural springs near the distillery and uses local barley. The single malt is bottled without chill filtration.
