Their story
Breckenridge Distillery was founded in 2008 by Dr. Bryan Nolt, a physician who never planned to leave medicine. Distilling started as a creative outlet and grew into a full-time pursuit in the Colorado ski town of Breckenridge.
The distillery bills itself as the highest in the country, and it has grown well beyond bourbon. Its bourbon took a Double Gold at the New York International Spirits Competition in 2023.
How it's made
The team makes bourbon, blended whiskey and American single malt, along with rum, gin, aquavit and a bitter aperitif. Nolt's guiding idea is simple: make the spirits he wants to drink himself.
