Their story
Breuckelen Distilling is the work of Brad Estabrooke, a former bond trader who decided to open a distillery around the time he was laid off in 2008. He raised money from friends and family and set up in a former boiler room in Brooklyn's Sunset Park.
The first bottles went on sale in July 2010. From the start, the goal was a spirit with a clear sense of place: a true New York whiskey.
How it's made
Organic grain comes from a farm upstate and is milled on site. It is mashed, fermented in steel tanks and run through a custom copper pot still. The spirit is then aged in oak for whiskey or redistilled with botanicals for gin.
Our featured pick
No.1 Wheated Bottled-In-Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ML)
$150.00
Project No. 1 was fermented from a mash of 60% corn, 20% red wheat, and 20% malted barley. Distilled twice, up to about 150 proof, before aging in 53 gallon barrels for 4 years. Bottled at 100 proof, this full flavored bourbon features notes of cherry fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel.

Why we carry them
We like Breuckelen for grain-to-glass spirits made close to the source. The gin is a bright, local pick for martinis.
