Their story
Bruxo began with a group of friends traveling through the mountains of Oaxaca in 2008, looking for mezcal made by small family producers. Santiago Barreiro Pacheco, Luis Eduardo Manrique Camacho, and Roberto Brinkman Camara sold their first bottle in Mexico in 2010.
The brand grew into Europe after merging with Agave Capital in 2013 and reached the United States in 2014. Since 2019 it has been imported and distributed by Beam Suntory, now Suntory Global Spirits.
How it's made
Each numbered Bruxo expression comes from a named maestro mezcalero, using agaves such as espadin, barril, cuishe, and tobala. Methods vary by producer, from stone ovens and horse-drawn tahonas to copper stills and cypress and pine fermentation vats.
Why we carry them
We like Bruxo because each bottle tells you who made it. No. 1 is a friendly entry point, and the agave blends reward side-by-side tasting.
