Their story

Cadenhead's started in Aberdeen in 1842 as a wine and spirits business founded by George Duncan. His brother-in-law, William Cadenhead, joined about a decade later and gave the company his name after Duncan's death in 1858. For more than 130 years it traded from the same street in Aberdeen.

In 1972 the company was bought by J. & A. Mitchell, owners of Springbank distillery, and moved to Campbeltown, where it remains. Today it also runs shops and tasting rooms in London and Edinburgh.

How it's made

Cadenhead's buys casks from distilleries across Scotland and bottles them, often as single casks, without chill filtering or added color. It also bottles rum and gin.

Why we carry them

We love Cadenhead's for the chance to taste a distillery from an unexpected angle. Each bottling is a small piece of whisky history.
