Their story

Camus is an independent Cognac house still owned and run by its founding family. Jean-Baptiste Camus started it in 1863, and today Cyril Camus leads the business as the fifth generation.

The family has left its mark at each step. Gaston Camus made the house an official supplier to the Russian imperial court in 1910, and under Michel Camus the brand became a leader in duty-free shops from 1959. In 1991 Jean-Paul Camus brought the family's estates in the Borderies together under one roof.

How it's made

Camus grows grapes on its own Domaines Camus estates in the Borderies. Cyril Camus pairs the family's traditional know-how with more modern distillation techniques. Alongside its blended range, the house bottles single-estate cognacs such as the Borderies XO, first released in 2000.

Why we carry them

We point people to the Borderies XO for a taste of a single estate. It is a good way to see what a family house does differently.
