Their story

Casa Dragones is led by Bertha González Nieves, the first woman certified as a Maestra Tequilera by the Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila. She founded the brand in 2009 with media executive Robert W. Pittman.

The brand's home is San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato, where its name nods to the Dragones, a cavalry regiment once stabled in the town. The tequila itself is made from agave grown in the Valley of Tequila in Jalisco.

The first release was Joven, followed by a Blanco in 2014, a Barrel Blend in 2020 and, in 2022, a reposado rested in Japanese Mizunara oak.

How it's made

Casa Dragones uses 100% blue agave harvested in the Valley of Tequila. Its Joven blends fresh silver tequila with a touch of extra-aged tequila rested in new American oak, while the Barrel Blend is aged in new French and American oak and blended at the end.

Why we carry them

This is tequila made for slow sipping, not shots. We like the Blanco neat, slightly chilled, to taste the agave clearly.
