Their story
Casa Maestri is run by Celia and Michael Maestri, a couple who both grew up in distilling families. Celia's parents founded Licores Veracruz in Córdoba in 1951, and Michael's parents started Frank-Lin Distillers in San Jose, California, in 1976.
In 2008 the couple moved from Houston to Tequila, Jalisco, to start their own distillery, Destiladora del Valle de Tequila.
Besides its own labels, Casa Maestri is one of the largest private-label tequila producers, making tequila for dozens of other brands and exporting to more than 20 countries.
How it's made
Casa Maestri distills tequila at its own facility in the town of Tequila, in the heart of the agave country of Jalisco. The distillery produces a wide range of styles, from blanco through extra añejo, for its house brands and for partner labels.
