Their story

Casamigos started with two neighbors in Cabo San Lucas, George Clooney and Rande Gerber. They asked a distiller in Jalisco to make them a tequila to share with friends, about 1,000 bottles a year, until they were told they needed a license to keep going.

With Mike Meldman they turned it into a company, and the first bottles reached shelves in 2013.

In 2017 Diageo bought Casamigos in a deal worth up to $1 billion. The founders stayed on to promote the brand.

How it's made

Casamigos is made by a distiller in Jalisco from blue agave. The lineup covers blanco, reposado and añejo tequilas, made in a soft, easy-drinking style.

As you do when you're in Mexico, you drink a lot of tequila

Why we carry them

Casamigos is a familiar, easygoing tequila that works well in margaritas or over ice. A good bottle to bring to a party.
