Their story
Catoctin Creek was founded in 2009 by Scott and Becky Harris in Purcellville, in Loudoun County, Virginia. Becky is the chief distiller, and she was the first woman elected president of the American Craft Spirits Association board.
Since 2013 the distillery has worked out of the historic Case Building in town. In 2017 the Harrises sold a minority stake to Constellation Brands, and in 2023 they bought it back.
How it's made
Rye is the core of the distillery's work. It makes pot-still whisky, gin and seasonal brandy from local and organic grain and fruit, and now runs a 2,000-liter copper pot still.
Our featured pick

$50.00
A private barrel selection version takes it for a round of finishing in California Zinfandel wine barrels, before being bottled at 92 proof.

Why we carry them
Catoctin Creek shows what Virginia rye can taste like, and its Rabble Rouser bottled-in-bond rye is a standout. We like it in a Manhattan.
