Their story
April Wachtel started working in bars and restaurants at 13 and went on to tend bar in Boston and New York before becoming a brand ambassador and consultant for spirits companies. The daughter of a carpenter, she grew up building things, and that hands-on streak shaped the company she founded.
Cheeky Cocktails makes mixers that take the fussy prep out of bar-quality drinks at home. The company produces everything in its own space in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
How it's made
The syrups are made without artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. The bestselling espresso syrup uses coffee from two local Brooklyn roasters, and the hot honey blends honey with habanero and jalapeño, cut with water so it mixes smoothly over ice.
