Their story
Código 1530 is made in Amatitán, in the heart of Jalisco's tequila country. The brand says the recipe was produced privately by local families for over a century before it was ever sold.
A group including former Crocs CEO Ron Snyder, Federico Vaughan, football coach Mike Shanahan and hockey player Brett Hull brought it to market in 2016, with country singer George Strait among the investors.
How it's made
Código uses rainwater filtered through volcanic rock and yeast sourced from a local Amatitán bakery, and adds no artificial additives or sweeteners. The Rosa is a blanco rested for about a month in uncharred French oak barrels that once held Napa Cabernet, which gives it a pale pink color and soft berry notes.
Our featured pick
Rosa Tequila (375ML)
$42.99
Rested for 1mth in Napa Cabernet French Oak. Result is a refined spirit with a natural color as beautiful as its taste.
Why we carry them
We reach for Código when someone wants a clean, additive-free tequila. The Rosa is a fun conversation starter and good on its own over ice.
