Their story
Eric Artiguelongue spent more than two decades as a cellar master and blender at a well-known Armagnac estate in Gascony, learning how these brandies change over years in barrel.
In 2005 he set out on his own, creating a house under his own name. Rather than distill himself, he seeks out old and unusual lots from small growers and distillers in Bas-Armagnac, then selects and bottles them, including vintage-dated releases and aged blends such as VSOP and a 15-year XO.
How it's made
Eric sources his Armagnac from small producers in the Bas-Armagnac appellation, with blends drawn largely from Colombard, Folle Blanche and Ugni Blanc. He relies on his years of experience to choose and mature lots that show depth and character before bottling.
Why we carry them
We think Eric's bottlings are a wonderful way into Armagnac, especially his vintage releases. A glass after dinner shows why so many brandy lovers look to Gascony.
