Their story
Faction Brewing is run by husband and wife Rodger Davis and Claudia Pamparana. Rodger brews, and Claudia runs the taproom and much of the business.
Before Faction, Rodger was head brewer at Drake's Brewing in San Leandro and Triple Rock in Berkeley. The couple opened Faction in 2013 inside a huge hangar on the former Navy base at Alameda Point, right by the Alameda shoreline.
How it's made
Faction focuses on straightforward styles, especially a rotating series of IPAs that explores different hops and hopping methods. Rodger aims for big hop aroma without harsh bitterness, and the brewery also runs a barrel-aging program.
The minute we walked into the hangar we knew it was our calling.
Why we carry them
Faction is a true East Bay favorite, and their rotating IPAs are a great way to drink local. Bring a six-pack to your next picnic.
