Their story
Glasrose comes out of California's Santa Ynez Valley, the wine country north of Santa Barbara. Rather than making wine and stripping the alcohol out, it starts with grapes picked before they ripen and turns them into a lightly sparkling verjus.
The result is meant to sit where a glass of sparkling wine would, with flavored versions such as Elderflower and Yuzu and Hibiscus and Blood Orange.
How it's made
Glasrose uses estate-grown grapes harvested early, at around 10 to 12 brix, when they are tart and low in sugar. The juice becomes a naturally nonalcoholic verjus, which is then given a light sparkle.
Why we carry them
We are always looking for nonalcoholic bottles that feel like an occasion. This one has bright acidity and a fine fizz, and it belongs on the table next to the Champagne.
