Their story
Louisville Distilling Company is the business behind Angel's Envy bourbon. It was founded in 2011 by Lincoln Henderson, who spent close to 40 years at Brown-Forman as a master distiller, and his son Wes. Lincoln died in 2013, and his grandson Kyle also joined the family business.
The company restored an early-1900s industrial building at Main and Jackson streets in downtown Louisville as its distillery and visitor center, and it joined the Kentucky Distillers' Association in 2016.
In 2015 the Henderson family sold its ownership stake to Bacardi, which now owns the brand.
How it's made
The whiskey is aged in new charred oak, then finished in a second cask, a technique borrowed from Scotch. The bourbon is finished in port wine barrels, and the rye in rum casks. Production now happens at the company's own downtown Louisville distillery.
Our featured pick
Angels Envy Rye (750ML)
$110.00
Spending up to 18 months finishing in Caribbean rum casks, the taste profile is genuinely unique and worthy of Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson’s legacy (creator of Woodford Reserve Bourbon).

Why we carry them
We like Angel's Envy as a bridge between bourbon and wine lovers. The port finish adds a soft, dried-fruit sweetness that makes it easy to sip neat.
