Their story

Vital Proteins was founded in Chicago by Kurt Seidensticker and built its name on collagen. It started by selling online and grew into a line of about 150 powders, bars, shots, waters and supplements found in tens of thousands of stores.

In 2020 Nestle Health Science bought a majority stake in the company and later acquired the rest, so Vital Proteins is now owned by Nestle. It still runs out of Chicago, where it has a large manufacturing and distribution center.

How it's made

Vital Proteins makes and ships its products from its own 180,000-square-foot facility in Chicago. The range is built around collagen, offered as powders, bars, shots, enhanced waters and supplements.

As we try to look at global expansion it becomes more challenging without a strategic partner like Nestlé.
