Born in the town of Tequila in Jalisco, Mexico — Tequila is a unique spirit that can only be made in certain regions of Mexico, this small distilled spirit made from the Weber blue agave plant or agave tequilana, has been gaining attention in the cocktail world again!
Now like every other spirit, tequila needs to be of good quality and from a trusted seller (if you know what we mean), and there are some very specific reasons why
- The Flavour: High-quality tequila means a rich flavour profile and a more deep taste
- Purity: Good tequilas are made 100% naturally with no weird additives whatsoever, and we believe that you deserve only the best.
- Fewer Hangover: Good quality tequilas usually contain fewer congeners (impurities formed during fermentation), which can reduce the chances of you having a hangover afterwards.
The Epicurean Trader offers a wide selection of premium tequila spirits. Here are our personal favorites for those tempted to try them now:

Classic Tequila Cocktails
Margarita
And we are kicking things off with (you guessed it) Queen Margarita!
Yes, the classic cocktail with a rather interesting past is here – it is believed by many that the margarita was actually crafted for a showgirl in Tijuana (yes, really). In contrast, others believe, now hold onto your hats, that it was concocted for a Texas socialite (yikes!). At the end of the day though, we are just really glad it was crafted for someone, somewhere at some time, because otherwise how else would we land ourselves a jewel of such kind?
Are you ready to make your own margarita? We have the recipe right here!
Recipe: Classic Margarita
- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz Cointreau or triple sec
- Salt for rimming the glass
- Lime wheel for garnish
Shick-Shake-Shock your tequila up with lime juice and Cointreau. Strain it into a salt-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice, and lastly garnish it with a lime wheel – Boom! The fiesta begins!
You can try the Clase Azul - Tequila Reposado to start mixing your brew!
Paloma
Ah yes, The Paloma — this drink is actually a staple in Mexican bars, plus it has also made a fair amount of waves beyond its homeland. This one right here is a refreshing cocktail, it combines tequila with grapefruit soda, lime juice and a pinch of salt. It is also considered an alternative to Margarita, especially on a hot summer day. This little drink has simple ingredients and making it is super easy, which is why it’s a favorite of many who are just getting started with Tequila based cocktails.
Recipe: Classic Paloma
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 4 oz Grapefruit Soda
- 1/2 oz Lime Juice
- Pinch of Salt
- Ice
- Lime wedge for garnish
So for this, you will rim your glass with salt, and rub a sour lime wedge on it, around the rim — after which you will dip it into some salt. Next step is to fill the glass with ice, add some tequila and lime juice in there too. Lastly, we will need you to top it off with grapefruit soda if you’d like, one gentle stir — and it’s all done!
Recommended Tequilas:
- Patrón Silver Tequila: Clean and crisp, it blends perfectly with the grapefruit soda for a refreshing drink.
