Planteray (formerly Plantation) - 'Original Dark' Double Aged Rum (750ML)
Double Aged using an ancient technique. First matured in heavily charred American Oak barrels in the Caribbean, then shipped to France, where they are aged in medium-toasted French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: A delightful combination of caramel and molasses, complemented by hints of vanilla and tropical fruits such as banana and pineapple. A subtle oakiness and warm spice round out the profile.
- Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with dark caramel and brown sugar at the forefront. Notes of ripe banana, coconut, cinnamon, and nutmeg add warmth and depth, while the oak influence imparts a touch of tannic complexity.
- Finish: Medium to long, transitioning from sweetness to a drier, spicier conclusion. Lingering flavors of toasted oak, dark chocolate, and a hint of tobacco create a balanced and satisfying experience.
