St. George Artisan Distillers - Single Malt Whiskey (LOT 21 | 2021 Release)
Pale and crystal malts broadly show across the palate and are soon deepened by dusty cocoa and bittersweet chocolate notes that go towards molé (cinnamon and nutmeg). The spice on the back palate expands with further impressions of cream, butter, clover honey, honey roasted peanuts, and the sweet citrus Semillon wine. The malts continue to show throughout and after a few sips the sweetness of licorice and chocolate mint give a cooling sensation as the long finish goes towards gunpowder tea and ale.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Caramel with herbal and earthy notes, malt and red wine influences, brown sugar, oak, plums, dates, raisins, smoke, and spices.
Palate: Sweet cola with a toasty, malty aftertaste, charred and herbal, dry with hints of vanilla and orange peel.
Finish: Medium, sweet, featuring deep malty notes and a touch of pepper.
