Their story
Agua del Sol is a mezcal project from Felix Hernández Monterrosa and Adriana Correa, a married couple who are also the team behind the CUISH mezcal brand in Oaxaca. The name means water of the sun, a phrase Adriana uses for mezcal itself.
The first releases came from maestra Berta Vasquez and maestro Francisco Garcia Leon, in batches of just a few hundred liters.
How it's made
Agua del Sol has no production contracts. Instead it buys only what the maestros want to sell, leaves some mezcal behind for local drinking, and shares profits with the producers. The early batches were small and non-certified.

Why we carry them
We like Agua del Sol for mezcal that puts the producers first. It's a great way to taste traditional Oaxacan mezcal from individual makers.
