Their story
Alderete is a tequila from Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, where the agave grows in iron-rich red soil. The brand uses estate-grown Blue Weber agave.
It is produced at the highland distillery registered as NOM 1414.
How it's made
Agave is cooked slowly in stone and brick ovens, crushed with a roller mill and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The tequila is distilled twice in copper pot stills and bottled at 40 percent, with aged expressions rested in oak.

Why we carry them
We like Alderete as a clean example of highland tequila made the traditional way, with brick-oven agave doing the talking.
