Their story
Alley 6 is run by Krystle and Jason Jorgensen, a couple who fell for whiskey and took a trip to Scotland that changed their plans. They set up a tiny distillery in Healdsburg, in the middle of Sonoma County wine country.
Their first rye whiskey came out in 2015, and the two of them still do nearly every job in the building themselves.
How it's made
The Jorgensens mill, mash, distill, barrel and bottle everything on site in small batches. Their rye uses a mash of about 78 percent rye and 22 percent malted barley, runs through a 500-liter copper alembic still they call Horton, and ages in new, heavily charred American oak.
Why we carry them
We love finding a Sonoma County rye made start to finish by two people. It is a great local bottle for a Manhattan.
