Their story
Champagne André Clouet is run by Jean-François Clouet in Bouzy, the grand cru village on the Montagne de Reims best known for Pinot Noir. The family traces its roots to the court of Louis XV, when Clouet ancestors worked as printers to the royal court at Versailles, a history that shows up in the house's ornate labels.
The family owns eight hectares of vines on Bouzy's south-facing chalk, and Jean-François treats the village as something to protect and express in every bottle.
How it's made
Each plot is vinified separately, and part of the wine is fermented and aged in used Sauternes casks from Château Doisy-Daëne. The range is built on Pinot Noir, including a zero-dosage Blanc de Noirs and the long-aged multi-vintage cuvée Un Jour de 1911.
