Their story

Cabi is a women-owned Japanese condiment brand started by Miki Nomura and Eri Miyagi. Both grew up in Japan and came into their own as adults in the United States, and they built Cabi to share the everyday flavors of Japanese home cooking.

The name means "mold" in Japanese, a nod to koji and the fermentation behind soy sauce, miso, and vinegar. The brand launched with an Umami Dashi Soy Sauce, a Sweet Yuzu Vinegar, and a Sansho Peppercorn Miso.

How it's made

Cabi's sauces draw on traditional Japanese fermented ingredients such as soy sauce, miso, and vinegar, combined with flavors like dashi, yuzu, and sansho pepper.

Why we carry them

We use Cabi's dashi soy sauce on everything from rice to roasted vegetables. It is an easy way to add depth to weeknight cooking.
