Their story
Conti di Buscareto was founded in 2002 by Claudio Gabellini and Enrico Giacomelli in the Marche, on Italy's Adriatic side, near the town of Ostra in the province of Ancona.
The winery has focused from the start on the region's native grapes, above all Verdicchio and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, a fragrant red grape grown almost nowhere else. Its vineyards include sites in Ripalta di Arcevia and Morro d'Alba.
How it's made
The range is split into lines: Goccia for fresh, lively everyday wines, Selezione for more structured, age-worthy bottlings from selected grapes, and a sparkling line made by the tank method. Alongside the native varieties, the winery works with a few international grapes.
Our featured pick

Why we carry them
If you have never tried Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, this is a great introduction to a grape with a floral, almost rose-like perfume. It is a fun red to bring to dinner.
