Craftsman & Wolves
Modern San Francisco patisserie with a designer's eye.
- Founded by
- William Werner
- Based in
- San Francisco, California

Their story
Craftsman & Wolves is the work of pastry chef William Werner, who opened the patisserie on Valencia Street in the Mission around 2012. It was the first project from his hospitality group, Outfit Generic.
The shop broke from the usual French bakery look, with a dark, atelier-style room against brick walls. Its cube-shaped cakes, croissants and savory pastries quickly drew a following among San Francisco food lovers.
How it's made
Werner and his team bake in small batches, pairing classic French pastry technique with unexpected flavors. The menu has ranged from cube cakes and eclairs to shoyu caramels and savory items.
