Their story
El Vino Pródigo is the project of Pedro Peciña in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a hillside village in Rioja Alta. He started from scratch with vineyards he inherited from his mother.
It is one of the newer wineries in Rioja and part of a generation of growers showing a more varied side of the region. In 2019 it joined Bodegas Familiares de Rioja, an association of family-owned wineries.
How it's made
The wines come from the family's own vineyards around San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Bottlings include La Viña de la Merce, a Rioja Crianza, and Placeres Sensoriales.
