Their story

Good Citizen Coffee Co. is a specialty roaster in Nashville, founded in 2018 by Sean Stewart and originally known as Stay Golden Coffee Co. The team has long served the city's cafes and has since expanded to coffee drinkers nationwide.

The name reflects its aim to act as good citizens in both business and daily life. In 2024 Reed Hospitality Group, the parent company of Nashville roaster 8th and Roast, acquired the company.

How it's made

Good Citizen roasts for clean, sweet and balanced cups. Through its Flora & Fauna program it works with importers to find farmers focused on biodiversity, and it pays an extra five percent on green coffee to support that work.

Why we carry them

We like roasters who think about the farm as much as the cup. These are balanced, easy-drinking coffees for the everyday pot.
