Their story
Pastificio Di Martino is a family pasta company in Gragnano, the hill town near Naples long known for dried pasta. It is run today by Giuseppe Di Martino, the third generation of his family in the business and namesake of the founder.
The first Giuseppe Di Martino went to work in a Gragnano pasta factory as a boy and bought it in 1912. The family kept it going through two world wars and hard times, and today makes more than 260 pasta shapes. In 2017 the group took a majority stake in Grandi Pastai, adding fresh pasta and gnocchi.
How it's made
Di Martino has made Pasta di Gragnano PGI for more than a century. That protected designation calls for durum wheat semolina and local water, with the dough extruded through bronze dies for a rough surface and dried slowly.
Our featured pick
Farfalle Pasta (1LB)
$7.99
Pastificio Di Martino's farfalle pasta is top quality and versatile. Use these bowties with your favorite pasta sauce or in cold pasta salads.
Why we carry them
We like Di Martino for its rough, sauce-grabbing texture and the sheer range of shapes. It's an easy upgrade for a weeknight plate of pasta.
