Their story
Suzie's Organics comes from the Barhyte family of Pendleton, Oregon. Their sweet and sour mustard goes back generations to Jacobus Barhyte, a German settler in Saratoga Springs, New York, and the recipe later traveled west with the family on the Oregon Trail.
In the late 1970s Jan and Susan, known as Suzie, served the mustard at their Pendleton deli. Customers kept asking to take some home, and it turned into a family business. Suzie later joined her son Chris and daughter-in-law Irene, and Irene has carried it on as a women-owned company.
How it's made
The Suzie's line of organic mustards, ketchup, hot sauce and marinades is made in the Pacific Northwest from family recipes, with a focus on certified organic ingredients.
