Their story
The Sebastiani family has made wine in Sonoma since 1904, when stonemason Samuele Sebastiani, who emigrated from Tuscany, started one of the area's first wineries. His great-grandson August Sebastiani carries the family story forward with 3 Badge Beverage.
In 2014 August bought Sonoma's old firehouse to house his company. Digging through archives during escrow, he found that his grandfather, also named August, had been a volunteer firefighter there and had campaigned to build it. His aunt still had the three service badges his grandfather earned, and the company took its name from them.
Today 3 Badge works as a négociant, sourcing wine from growers across California and beyond, and it also partners with craft spirits makers.
How it's made
As a négociant, 3 Badge sources grapes and finished wine from growers and producers, then blends and bottles under its own labels, from Sonoma to the Central Coast, the Pacific Northwest and Italy. On the spirits side, it partners with artisan producers to bring their bottles to market.
Our featured pick
