Their story
Alesong is run by Brian Coombs and Matt Van Wyk, who met at Oakshire Brewing in Eugene before going out on their own around 2016. Their tasting room is a small wooden building on a hilltop off Territorial Highway, about 20 miles southwest of Eugene in rural Lane County.
From the start they chose to make only long-matured beers: barrel-aged stouts, wild ales and fruited sours. The approach puts them in the slow beer camp, built around patience and a farmhouse brewing philosophy.
How it's made
After a month or more of primary fermentation, the beers rest in oak for at least six months and sometimes three or four years. Some ferment in wooden barrels, stouts pick up character from bourbon barrels, and the sours use whole local fruit picked at peak ripeness, bringing wild yeast and bacteria from the skins.

We really just wanted to focus exclusively on these long maturation and long processed beers.
Why we carry them
Alesong bottles are made for sharing slowly, the way you would a good bottle of wine. We like them alongside a cheese board.
