Their story
Château L'Oiselinière de la Ramée is one of the estates of Chéreau-Carré, a family firm in Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine near Nantes. Bernard Chéreau started in the early 1950s with a small family plot and steadily added vineyards, including Château de Chasseloir in 1953.
His marriage to Mademoiselle Carré brought the L'Oiselinière vineyards into the family, and the business took the name Chéreau-Carré. The family now owns 133 hectares across six domaines, with the next generation, including Louise Chéreau, involved since 2014.
How it's made
The wine is made from Melon de Bourgogne, the Muscadet grape, and rests on its lees before bottling to build texture and character. It is unoaked, keeping the focus on the region's saline, mineral style.

Sur Lie Muscadet Sevre Et Maine (750ML)
$24.00
The south-facing vineyard of Château de la Ramée overlooks the confluence of the Sèvre and Maine rivers. 'Sur Lie', when seen on a Muscadet label, means the wine has been matured on the fermentation.

Why we carry them
We think this is textbook Muscadet, crisp and salty, and the bottle to open with oysters.
